Directed by Steven Soderbergh

Steven Soderbergh has come a long way since his breakout debut Sex, Lies & Videotape. He’s managed to balance his career by making huge, big budget high earning star-studded movies (like the Oceans 11 franchise), and in between making more modest, personal movies, incorporating his A-list friends to join him on these trips.

This is one of those smaller (but still not cheap) movies, and deals with a woman who is placed on a new anti-depressant drug. Her husband spent time in jail for insider trading, and after strange side effects on the drug, she ends up killing him in a trance-like state. This dumps the doctor into a tumultuous situation where if he defends her actions, he could be held to account…

Things are also not as straightforward as his investigation systematically reveals, as it looks at human psychology, manipulation, pharmaceutical responsibility, human emotion, and greed.
An interesting movie with a very naturalistic, non-glossy look and feel.
